The Thornaby Community Litter Project is about so much more than picking up rubbish. It’s about bringing people together, taking pride in where we live and showing that our town is cared for.
Every week, volunteers of all ages give their time to help keep Thornaby cleaner and greener. Along the way, strangers become friends, young people learn the importance of looking after their community, and areas across the town are transformed one litter pick at a time. ♻️🌿

💚 Supporting Thornaby Foodbank as we move into winter
As the colder months approach, rising household costs and fuel bills can put additional pressure on individuals and families across our community.
This can also mean an increased demand for the vital support provided by Thornaby Foodbank.
Now entering its 11th year, the Foodbank continues to provide essential food parcels to local people, made possible by the incredible generosity of those who donate and the volunteers who give their time to collect, pack and distribute donations.

Today is World Mental Health Day, an important reminder that looking after our mental health is just as important as looking after our physical health.
Sometimes, simply checking in can make a difference. Ask a friend how they’re doing, make time for a family member, check on a neighbour or reach out to someone you haven’t heard from in a while.
And if you’re struggling yourself, remember that you don’t have to deal with everything on your own.
Reaching out and talking to someone can be an important first step.
