Thornaby Trails – Volunteers sought

Over recent years the Council has worked with various partners to develop a trail around the periphery of Thornaby. The trail connects areas of woodland, the River Tees, local nature reserves, permissive and public rights of way together, approximately 7 miles in total. The route can be picked up at various points across the town and could form part of an alternative shorter circuit as residents see fit.

Following a recent audit of the trail there are areas and sections that require improvement, including the cutting back of vegetation and footpath and access infrastructure repairs. The trail also requires waymarking and promoting. The Council’s ranger service has been tasked with working with volunteers from the local community to help achieve these objectives.

We are therefore hoping to recruit volunteers who will help the Council to develop, promote and maintain the trail in future.
